Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026
JobFlare ("we") helps you discover new jobs and alerts you about them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow the privacy laws that apply to our members, including US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, name, and authentication identifiers.
- Job profile: titles, skills, locations, salary floor and other preferences you enter.
- Contact details for alerts you switch on: mobile number (SMS) and browser push subscription.
- Your resume, if you upload one: the file and what we read from it (job titles, skills, experience, education and contact details). If you use resume matching without an account, the file is read once to find matches and is not stored.
- Auto-apply details, if you choose to fill them in: your resume, contact details, links, work eligibility, experience, education, pay expectations, a cover-letter template and your schedule. Optional voluntary self-identification answers (asked by US employers) are stored only if you give them.
- Billing status from our payment processors, Stripe and Razorpay. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To match jobs to your profile and your resume, and send the alerts you request (performance of our contract with you).
- To fill in job applications for you when you switch on auto-apply and authorize it. Self-identification answers are only ever passed to an employer whose form asks for them and are never used to choose jobs.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To send service messages such as receipts and security notices.
We do not sell your personal data. An employer only receives it when you apply. For example, when auto-apply sends an application you authorized, that employer gets the answers and resume its form asks for.
Processors
We use trusted providers to run the service: Google Cloud (hosting, database and file storage), Firebase Authentication by Google (sign-in), Stripe and Razorpay (payments), Resend (email) and Twilio (SMS). They process data only on our instructions.
Your rights
You can access and correct your data in your dashboard, withdraw consent for any alert channel at any time, and permanently delete your account from Job profile → Delete account. You may also contact us at support@example.com or lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you can also ask us what personal information we hold about you and why, and ask us to correct or delete it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account, except where the law requires us to keep billing records. You can remove your resume at any time from the Resume match page.
Children
The service is for people aged 18 and over.
